We’ve received several questions regarding this process, and this section aims to clarify it. Police Intimation/Verification is a separate procedure, except in the Pune district. To obtain a police intimation copy, you need to complete the data entry on the respective police website. Police intimation means notifying the local police station about the tenant’s stay. Once the police station signs this intimation, it becomes a police verification. For police verification, both parties must visit the police station. You can choose either option based on your requirements. The following section outlines the step-by-step process for your convenience.

1. Visit the police website based on your property location. Below is the website links based on the locations.
2. Create a Citizen Login and log in with your credentials.
3. Fill in the required details and upload documents.
4. Print the filled police intimation form.
5. Visit the chosen police station with the required documents.

2. Fill up the form.
3. Visit the chosen police station with the required documents.

Required Documents for Offline Police Verification

• Owner: Aadhar, PAN, Passport size Photo.
• Tenant: Aadhar, Employee ID Card, Passport size Photo.
• Agent (if any): Aadhar, Passport size Photo.

Things to Remember Before Visiting a Police Station

1. Choose the police station based on the property jurisdiction, not the distance from you.
2. Always complete police verification for all tenants (Licensees).
3. Prepare two sets of documents – one for the police and one for you with the stamp and sign.
4. Use recent photographs.
5. Ensure all document photocopies are clearly visible.
6. Carry a copy of the current dated registered rent agreement.
7. Keep a photocopy of the verification for both the tenant and owner.

Pune District Update:

Recently, the eRegistration portal introduced a mandatory tenant intimation form along with the Leave and License document, applicable only in the Pune district. Upon data entry, a pop-up will inform you that "Your Data of Leave and License will be shared with the city police for tenant verification, no need to go to the police station for verification".

However, in some cases, the available police station list may not match your location, and we will use the nearest police station. Please note that this is an intimation document only, so it will not have an official stamp or signature from the police station.

Note:*If your property is in Pune, you will get a Police Intimation copy generated through the eRegistration portal. This is just an intimation copy, not a police verification document. Some agencies or housing societies may still require traditional police verification documents, which bear the official police station sign or stamp.
